Matt Porterfield is a director hailing from Baltimore. He received a lot of praise for his first full-length film, Hamilton, and his new one, Putty Hill (check out the trailer above), seems to be getting some love as well (apparently there is a funeral scene set and shot in Dimitri’s Tavern, for all you Hampden folks out there). I’m pumped to see both of them. Also, I think my friend Eric was a producer on Putty Hill. Eric was a location scout on the Wire and has an uncanny ability of making people get violent toward him when he is drunk.

In completely unrelated news, the Director of Photography for both of Porterfield’s films, Jeremy Saulnier, directed a music video in which I played a dude eating a waffle while wearing a robe (true story; check the 2:27 mark). Jeremy also wrote and directed Murder Party, which features my best friend’s older brother, Macon, and completely rules ass!

The connections are endless.
