The opening to last night’s Simpsons was awesome.
A while back, my homey Will’s band did this thing for Weathervane Music, which is basically a non-profit group that gives cool bands a fancy studio for a few days, lets them write and record a song, and documents the whole thing. I’m kind of out of the loop; I guess Twin Sister is a cool band or something, but they did something for Shaking Through, which is also put on by Weathervane. This is their song, and I like it.
These guys can do no wrong.

If this doesn’t make you drop bows, you probably don’t have elbows.
In a lot of movies, people have unrealistic lifestyles in relation to their jobs. You know, barrista lives in a SOHO loft, shit like that.
But this movie wins. In it, Mike Myers drives a sweet convertible and has a rad apartment in San Francisco. Yet, all he does is recite the same-sounding poem with different words over the same jazz number at lame coffee houses. And, he only does it when he breaks up with a girlfriend or is psyched about a girl/wife. That’s it. Shitty poets get paid in coffee, right?
Plus, his dad is an immigrant, so it’s not like he has a trust fund.
Anyway, I just don’t they thought this out very well when they wrote the movie.
This guy is pure gold. Here are some classic performances: his opening monologue from the 1998 ESPY’S and his roast of Bob Saget. God, he is good.
